Dr. Gabriel Ferreira Recognized for Surgical Innovation in Glaucoma Care
North Manhattan Eye Center is proud to celebrate Dr. Gabriel Ferreira’s recent recognition from Iantrek for his work in surgical innovation and advanced glaucoma care.
Dr. Ferreira received the recognition after completing advanced implantation training in bio-interventional ophthalmic surgery in Panama. During this training, he became the first U.S. surgeon to perform the AlloSpan procedure — an important milestone that reflects his ongoing commitment to learning, innovation, and thoughtful patient care.
At North Manhattan Eye Center, our team believes that excellent eye care requires both experience and a willingness to keep advancing. For patients with glaucoma and other complex eye conditions, continued innovation can play an important role in helping physicians evaluate new treatment possibilities and improve long-term care.
Dr. Ferreira shared his gratitude for the opportunity:
“I’m grateful to Adam, Sean, and the entire Iantrek team for the opportunity to be among the first to use this advanced bio-interventional approach, and I’m excited for the continued pipeline of new innovations designed to support thoughtful, patient-centered glaucoma care.”
This recognition highlights Dr. Ferreira’s dedication to advancing surgical techniques while keeping patient outcomes at the center of his work. His continued training and involvement in emerging ophthalmic procedures reflect North Manhattan Eye Center’s broader commitment to providing skilled, modern, and compassionate care.
